Simple, anonymous, and constructive feedback for the arts.

Frequently Asked Questions Back to Dashboard

Why should I use Talkbackr?

We don't work in a vacuum. Every endeavor we make in life requires feedback, but this is particularly true for artists. Most of us go to our close, trusted friends for advice, but it is our contention that just a close circle of friends is not enough. Talkbackr allows you to gather feedback from a large pool of audience members. Hopefully, this feedback will be honest and helpful. If not, well you didn't lose anything but a few minutes of your time, right? Right.

How do I share my URL with others?

That's entirely up to you! We suggest putting the link on your program that you hand out at your event so that audience members can take it home and have the link handy for future reference. Other options including posting it to Twitter or Facebook or writing it in marker on your forehead. (Note: our lawyers insist that we recommend against this last option).

What information is stored in your database?

For people giving feedback, the only things stored are your feedback notes. If you choose to provide your name (and it's totally optional), that will be stored as well. We do not track your location or anything else. Your submission is completely anonymous, unless you choose to provide a name.

For people creating events, we require your email address for contact purposes. Nothing else is gathered!

Who sees this information?

The only people with access to your feedback are the people who created the event in the first place. Usually this is the artist or leader of the artistic group. Talkbackr.com programmers also have access to the database, but only use it for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. Your feedback will remain private on our servers.

This is such a great idea!

That's not a question, but thanks, we think so too!

How did you get the idea to do this?

We've always been baffled by the lack of feedback in theatre as opposed to other art forms. Several of us on Twitter had a discussion under the #2amt (2am Theatre) tag about feedback. As a result of this conversation and our combined experiences with lack of feedback, we decided to create this app called Talkbackr. We hope you enjoy it!

Does it cost anything?

This service is absolutely, 100% free. We do offer Premium Events with some extra features for a small fee, but they're really just bonus features. Everything you need to use Talkbackr is available for free!

I love the speech bubble in the logo!

Again, that's not a question, but thanks, we do too! The designer of the logo is Shawn Borsky the CEO of Anthem Design Groups in Alpharetta, GA!

You keep saying "we". Who is "we"?

That would be the "royal we" usage. The site was actually conceived, built and designed by Brian Seitel, aka @briandseitel, a web developer in the Alpharetta GA area and theatre director, actor and writer.

Special thanks to @dloehr for acting as a springboard for ideas regarding this service.
